Urban cities; Fast paced and
hectic, but yet sill calm and serene. I imagine the streets overflowing
with people and cars, all going in different directions, but oddly
enough, everyone intersects on these busy streets
at the same time. Among the fast pace of locals rushing to meetings and
hurrying about, there is always that one person that is taking in all of
the overwhelming newness to the rush experienced by all of their
senses. Some of these new emotions are due to the
familiarity we are able to locate in each person as being a normal day
for them; while the other emotions are brought on by the first time I am
able to appreciate a life so very different from my own.
I have never been to New
Orleans, and cannot begin to express my gratefulness to have this
opportunity. The only associations I am able to make with New Orleans is
by what I have seen on the television. The images that
I have seen include very hectic busy party life of Mardi Gras to the local residents that were terribly affected by Hurricane Katrina. Although
these are two very different extremes, what I hope to find in New
Orleans is somewhere in the middle.
